Doorways

We wander through Thresholds, making our way to many worlds. These worlds are accessible through doorways. Most often, they manifest as actual doors, especially on our side. Within the worlds, they could easily just be a passage, but most are spiritually actual doors. Not that everyone can see or feel them. They are, and we know they Are, but world dwellers cannot just randomly enter them. While one may suddenly encounter one, so many do not, suggesting that the Power was already within the discoverer.   Keep in mind that we do not fully understand doorways. Like Thresholds, they may come and go over time, something we do not fully control. Sometimes, new worlds are connected, or perhaps the same world grows multiple. At other times, a world that has been connected for decades or centuries, no longer is reachable for us as its doorway disappeared from the Threshold used to go there. But a disappearing doorway is rare, especially so if those from a world are still wandering. It is this characteristic that means some consider a lost doorway to be a sign of demise, that those from that world are no longer with us.   Perhaps that is the case. Perhaps not. It could mean that the people bring forth the doorway, or that the doorway brings forth the people. The only thing we can tell is that neither Threshold nor world depend on the doorway to exist. In rare cases, people ended up stuck inside a world for years or worse, until either a new or the old doorway became available again. So while there are those that think the doorway manifests the world, this seems to conflict with stories told. Unless, of course, these worlds were still connected through doorways even if one seemed to not be available anymore.   I must admit, I care not to find out, as this would require becoming stuck myself. I wander where my feet lead me, and to my fortune they have never steered me past a decaying doorway. And honestly, the situation is rare enough that you need not worry about it. Know this, unless your very instincts are screaming at you, there is no reason to distrust every doorway and cripple yourself with fear. So trust in yourself, trust in your Power, and trust in proper caution. Do not let fear control you, as that is the first step to becoming naught but a mere shadow of your once Powerful self.
