Phandine Peak
Phandine Peak is the highest point and most recognizable landmark in Dwaistar. It lay in the midst of the Fields of Felsword like a mighty observer watching from all angles. Its presence is mysterious, by all accounts the mountain should not be where it is. In the current era, it lies in the center of the kingdom of Critinal. The most popular theory is it is the result of a conflict between the gods many eras ago. Backed up by the fact that the entire area is imbued with divine magic. Another theory claims the center of the terrible mountain is heated to the point of rock turning to liquid. In any case, the great peak serves as one of the most fantastic sights to lay eyes upon on the continent and this mountain has been a place of beauty, worship, and mystery for thousands of years.
Geography
Phandine Peak is quite the anomaly, geographically speaking. The mountain is quite a ways inland and the closest mountain range near it are the Shoreside Mountains, yet it does not align with them.
Few living beings have ever seen the top of the peak. It is very dangerous to approach. Those who claim to have been at the top though, say that gravity has less of a grasp on the stones. These claims can be confirmed through the use of a spyglass, though it can be difficult to spot. The higher up the mountain, the more boulders seem to "float". Climbing to the top can be deadly because of this.
The mountain is so large that cartographers and navigators often use it as a way point for judging distance and direction. It inclines upward quickly with rough, dark stone and a light snowy top. A few small tees can grow around the foot of the mountain, but rarely dare to, for the stone is thick and steady.
Localized Phenomena
Being so close to the Sea of Talons, the entire area of Critinal is no stranger to storms. When one rolls in, if it reaches Phandine Peak it seems to linger longer than it normally would by a number of days. Lightning seems to be attracted to the top of the mountain, though none can explain why. There are many reports of strange activity during these storms. Pink, yellow, and even green strikes of lightning appear at the top of the mountain during these heavy rainstorms. It has been likened to a show of lights similar to those seen over the Northern regions of Dwaistar.
