Kseerix
Kseerix is a mighty Elven city located towards the southwest of Dwaistar, beyond Shatterhelm and located by the forest of Tenebris Silvam. This is known for being the grand city of the High Elves. This is a very old city, built long ago. The High Elves are a very private and pretentious group, not often interacting with other cities outside of trade, unless they can get the result they want. The city itself is built upon a large hill that overlooks the treeline of the forest next to it. Kseerix is built on top of a massive vein of sapphire and has become a staple of their crafts. They incorporate the gem into all their meaningful structures and often in their armor as well. At the center of the city is the Himmel Sanctuary that houses the finest of Elven metalwork.
Government
Kseerix is run by a duke and duchess who rule for centuries. Due to the nature of High Elves, these two individuals are not often popular among their citizens. They often believe themselves to be more powerful than they actually are. There is also a representative for the Counsel of Daaself.
Defences
Kseerix is built in a circular structure, akin to a coliseum. This encompasses the entire hill that Kseerix is built upon. There are many spires in which archers may don to defend against invasion. In some of the sturdier trees around the forest of Tenebris Silvam there are blinds which the Elves have built to have an advantage through stealth attacks.
Points of interest
The Himmel Sanctuary - At the center of this city there is a grand courtyard. Stairs lead downward slightly into a lowered area. The pathways are made of pure sapphire, clear as glass. At the center there is the ancient skeleton of a dragon slain long ago, its corpse encased in the dark blue walkways. Overlooking the skeleton are the two trees of Couatil. Moras is the bronze tree, representing the Helewynn royal family and their military strength which they provide to Kseerix. Tolas is the silver tree, representing the Envaris royal family, who are renowned for their fine metalwork and silks. These two metal trees are so detailed, one might mistake them for naturally grown plants, down to the veins on the leaves.
Architecture
As any Elven structure one can imagine, Kseerix's architecture is quite ornate and artistic. The roofs of buildings are sloping and fine. Almost every wooden item has some kind of metallic inlay. Yet still one defining feature stands out, the city's attraction to sapphire. Elven artisans and artificers have devised a way to keep the city alight even during the night. This is done by a way of reflecting the moonlight through delicately placed polished sapphires. These gems are placed methodically throughout the city as a chain of reflected light that illuminates the streets until the next sun rises.
