Forest of The Fey
The Forest of the Fey is a large wood just above the Western Gate. This area of Dwaistar is greatly feared by many peoples. The forest got its name due to its mysterious connection to the Feywild. There are many shifting locations in the forest that act as "gates" that individuals can cross through. However, these gates shift often and do not linger in one spot. Many hunters and woodsmen can get trapped in the Feywild unknowingly without a way to return to the Material Plane. Traveling in these woods without a guide is a guaranteed way to ensure you never make it back home.
Likewise, some fey creatures can cross through to the Material Plane freely and become stuck in Dwaistar. A large influx of fey crossing over into the forest has become a problem for many travelers who mean to cross through the woods. Disappearances are common as well as heavy memory loss or insanity.
Localized Phenomena
One way to recognize the location of a gate is by the flora that grows around it. Gates that linger for more than a few days will start to change the color of the plants. Trees of bright blue, purple, black, and yellow are commonly seen. Gates to the Feywild have left their mark on the forest.
These marked trees in the past have been harvested for their unique color. However, after about a month they slowly begin to revert to their original hue.
