Dara-Banesh Mountains
The Dara-Banesh Mountains are a range near the Western coast of Dwaistar. The range begins at the Southern end of the Forest of Fey, cuts directly through the Western Gate, and finally ends by the Baneshi Peninsula. These mountains are home to many creatures, and house many civilizations old. Shatterhelm in particular resides in the Northern area of the range. Nomadic tribes of barbarians also take a liking to these peaks, due to their relatively easy-traveled trails.
Geography
These mountains are sizable, but not the tallest in Dwaistar. Their peaks still tower over the land like solidified tidal waves ready to crash upon the forests nearby. In a large gorge where the city of Shatterhelm has been built, there is a great mineral deposit of Green Marble. Despite this, the mountains look entirely normal from afar. Efforts have been made to find more of these deposits, but none have been discovered. The rest of these mighty heights are comprised of the same stone found on the rest of the lands.
To the North and South the Forest of Fey and the Forest of Tenebris Silvam provide the mountains a protective barrier. To the North of the Western Gate, the dried grasses of the Fields of Felsword sprawl out before the foot of the mountains. To the west, the Mountains lean against the Harmony Shores, keeping the winds from the sea at bay.
