Crakkar
Crakkar is a settlement of mysterious origin. It is a village located on the northern peaks of the Shadow Mountains. It is a place home to a group of nomadic, barbaric, and reclusive Goliaths, despite it's often freezing temperature. The only reason Crakkar's existence is proven is because a group of traveling adventurers once stumbled upon it while hunting a local Ettin that had been bothering the neighboring establishment of Ginnungagap. Before then, it's people were nothing more than a myth told by miners atop the mountains.
Demographics
Crakkar is exclusively populated by a small group of Golaths with little to no contact with the outside world (there are a few cases of Goliaths leaving Crakkar but it is uncommon).
Government
Carkkar has a chief to lead it's people but other than that, it runs on a community based trade structure.
Defences
The Near Giants of the Shadow Mountains need not build defenses, for the peaks of the mountains will likely kill anything that threatens it before they make it half of the way.
History
Not much is known of the origin of Crakkar, for its inhabitants do not record a large amount of their own history. However there are many theories of how they came into being. The most prevalent of which being, that the Goliaths here may be descended from the crossing of Human blood and the blood of the recently banished Frost Giants. But none truly know how the Goliaths came here, or why...
Architecture
The homes here are fashioned from leather, furs, and wood (probably gained from the nearby Myrkvidr). They are made in a tent shape with four sides, two parallel from each other connecting at the peak. And two more filling in the spaces in between. These homes are very efficient from keeping the freezing winds from coming inside.
Geography
The jagged peaks of the Shadow Mountains are rarely seen, due to the overabundance of snow and ice blanketing them. Snowstorms here are common to see, so the Goliaths have never had a problem with their neighbors who also live in these mountains, the Mountain Orcs trying to lead a siege on their village.
