Walking-Fortress Armor
Luroşa Tareceta-Amlemar is a variety of mechanurgical personal armor designed in 1348 by Anton Godard. Designed to turn specially-selected individual soldiers into armored shock troops, it has built-in motors powered by a compact mechanurgical diesel engine. It saw limited use on the North Jideran front of the Last War by the IJU Union Forces, with the expense of its production and its technical shortcomings preventing it from being more widely used. Small specialized units were created by the Union Forces, consisting of small squads of elite infantry and one person equipped with a set of Luroşa Tareceta-Amlemar.
The armor provides DR 16 on the head and torso and DR 8 on the limbs and eyes (thanks to an armored-glass eye slit). It allows the wearer to lift and carry as though ST 14, to strike as though ST 20, and to run tirelessly at Move 4 on level ground or 3 cross-country. It also gives Bad Grip 1. Wearing the helmet gives Restricted Vision(No Peripheral Vision) Most wearers of this armor were equipped with machine guns.
A full tank of diesel will keep the suit operating for 7.5 hours of continuous usage. One drawback of the suit, however, is the heat geenrated by the engine. Those who have worn it describe the experience like being locked inside an oven, with the experience worsening unless the engine is given time to cool. In practical terms, the wearer must make an HT roll every 30 minutes, per the rules for hot weather up to 30° over human temperature tolerance. Failure costs 1 FP, and critical failure costs 1d FP. FP cannot be recovered until the suit is removed. Additionally, the wearer loses an additional 1 FP every time they would lose FP to exertion or dehydration.
