Steel Corselet
The body armor of the heavy cavalryman. Before the Last War, every major power had at least one regiment of cuirassiers -- big people on big horses, trained to charge home with the sword. Their armor was highly polished for show (and often used as a mirror!) but had a cloth cover for field duty. The Last War and its mechanized warfare ended the era of cavalry charges, but plenty of steel breastplates are still floating around.
