Mopeli 9-Pounder Mk I
The Mopeli 9-Wilotul Tup I is a rocket based on the original design for a rocket that relied on spinning propulsion for stability, created by Palesa Mopeli in 1272. The Mopeli Rocket was widely used in colonial wars. The 9-pounder version became popular, as it is light enough for pack animals to carry and a viable weapon in swamps and jungles where even light mountain guns are of no use. It is launched from a "rocket machine" -- a trough on a tripod -- in land service, or from shipboard tubes in aerial service.
A mule can carry two packs of six rockets. Rockets, metal-lined wooden cases, and harness weigh 202 lbs. The disassembled trough and associated carrying equipment adds 32 lbs. An HE rocket costs 55 G.
