Mejtla Eaorma
Mejtla Eaorma is one of the colonial territories of the Imperial Jiderani Union in Eaorma , taken by the IJU from Loritania as part of the armistice ending the Last War.
The IJU's colonial holdings in Eaorma are split into three administrative regions: Oesta Eaorma, Mejtla Eaorma, and the Juuqiit Autonomous Territory. Oesta Eaorma and Mejtla Eaorma are ruled by colonial governors appointed by the Security Council. The Juuqiit have retained some degree of autonomy, and they have the ability to choose a governor that is then ratified by the Security Council.
Ostensibly, the role of the colonial governor is to oversee the political and cultural education of the colonized peoples, until they can govern themselves within the IJU. Even this paternalistic goal surpasses the reality. Much of the working population of West Eaorma is essentially enslaved. Strict production quotas - and excessive punishments for failing to meet them - makes West Eaorma one of the most brutal colonies on the continent. While the IJU has not managed to establish firm control over much of the hinterlands, they make regular ruthless attacks inwards to capture more "workers" and to keep resistance from growing.
