Kytolysis

Kytolysis is the term for the transcendental mechanism by which the Stereoma breaks down when in contact with the Astatoma without the Veil to maintain its structure. A less extreme version of this is sometimes called 'refraction.'   Kytolysis takes the form of a degradation in the fundamental nature of reality and the dissolution of time and space into an insensate soup. This process is impossible to observe or comprehend for a human, and its appearance within the dissolving reality thus takes on different forms. A common experience is seeing an incomprehensible, shadowy horror feeding and off of and manipulating reality. Other common sights are the scrambling of physical characteristics of things and beings within the affected area, twisting of physical laws, and nonsensical geography and temporality.
