Boots

Boots are ubiquitous among physical laborers, soldiers, outdoorsmen, and anyone who needs more rugged footwear. They offer limited protection against most hazards.   Heavily insulated boots designed for cold weather offer better protection against the cold. They are often worn with crampons when in icy terrain. Crampons offer +1 climbing on ice and +2 kicking damage, but they give -2 to Stealth when walking on hardened surfaces.   High boots are common among cavalry and regular horse riders. These boots extend to the knee or even mid-thigh. They can be worn up, which offers slight leg protection, or turned down.   Some boots used by industrial workers have steel reinforcement in the toes, giving better protection.
