The Oases

Scattered oases in The Dust that act as trade hubs and sources of water. They are vital resources for travelers and merchants in the desert, offering a haven of life and civilization amidst the harsh surroundings. The most ecologically and culturally diverse zones on the main continents aside from The Last Strands. Most of the Oases are on the smaller side being roughly 2-5 acres, but the largest one is Aghbalu Aziza, the crown jewel of the desert, with the next largest being Kerkini, a spot that has become a popular resting area for the Aarakocra and Kenku. Third largest is Ardashir, a modest trade hub that serves as a Koleos meeting ground.   The Cataclysm did not affect all locations equally. Some were spared the destructive effects of its shockwave across the planet. The Oases were among those locations largely unaffected for some reason or another.  

Features

The Oases have prominent stands of palm trees, desert plants, and a large central body of water, fed from an aquifer and the water table.

Major Settlements

  Ksar Khartoba - The largest and longest-lasting permanent settlement near Aghbalu Aziza, Ksar Khartoba is a massive trade hub filled to the gills with bazaars. It is one of the last remnants of a functioning civilization on the main continent.
