The Crystal Desert

A mysterious, cold location near the Northern pole of Dunia, where large crystal formations create illusions and distort reality. It is a permanent Anchorpoint MEZ, from what is known. Those that wander into it do not return, and it emits large clouds of Chaos Particles at nightly intervals. Auroras can be frequently observed in and around the Crystal Desert, where solar radiation interacts with the thinned atmosphere. The region is considered impossible to map, and so are the surrounding Frostlands. It did not exist before the Karithat-Aldawi struck. It is believed that there is a second Crystal Desert in the Southern continent, Kutib, but there have been no confirmed sightings of it.

Inhabitants of the The Crystal Desert

  The Tenok - The only known inhabitants of the region surrounding the Crystal Desert in Barid, the Tenok seem to have some strange reverence for the pulsating crystalline structure. To the Tenok, which don't understand magic, the Crystal Desert is seen as a sort of natural god. Once every now and then, one brave individual ventures into the Crystal Desert as part of a ritual sacrifice to it. They are never seen again.
