The Elder Moths
"They showed up with flashes of colour in the middle of the night, wakin' up most of the town. Those who slept through it were caught up real quick in the morning. These bugs were all the rage, and to some folk, they still are. They built a whole damn castle for the things even!" - A random citizen.
Summary
Several flashes of indescribably coloured lights appeared throughout the town, materializing from them were large moth-like creatures, that introduced themselves as the Elder Moths.
Immortal creatures that travel through space and time, bequeathing their gifts of knowledge extending back to the birth of the universe to the lesser beings.
As quick as they appeared in Duskmire, for reasons unknown, they just as quickly amassed a following of folks hungry for what felt like forbidden knowledge.
A large temple called "Mothwing Sanctum." Was built to house them, and serve as a library of all the recorded knowledge they were willing to share.

The existence of the moths are well known and common knowledge throughout Duskmire, and has certainly attracted a few individuals to take up residence in town.
