Treaty of Ottawa
Sir Gary Sanders (Speaker of the Grand Assembly): Here are the 7 rules for a peace treaty with Corchia laid out by the Termisch:
- Article I — Cessation of Hostilities: All military actions between the two nations shall cease immediately upon ratification of this agreement. All troops are to withdraw to pre-war borders within 30 days.
- Article II — Return of Prisoners and Civilians: Each side shall release prisoners of war and displaced civilians within 15 days of ratification.
- Article III — War Reparations and Reconstruction Fund: Corchia is held responsible for all damage done to Karnata by their invasion. This will include $ 40 million in financial compensation for the destruction of infrastructure, property, and loss of life. 20% of the $40M reparations can be waived if Corchia agrees to join our Free Trade alliance.
- Article IV — Return of Property and Assets: All property, cultural artifacts, or assets seized during the conflict by Corchia are required to be returned to the government of Karnata within 60 days.
- Article V — Non-Aggression Pact: Both parties agree not to wage war, fund rebel movements, or interfere in each other’s domestic politics forever. And Corchia's military is to be reduced to 70% of its prewar capabilities. New embassies are to be set up in both countries and improved diplomatic relations.
- Article VI — Accountability for War Crimes: The Ottawa Court of Justice is set up to investigate and prosecute any Corchian individual responsible for war crimes and violating international law
- Article VII — Restoration of Trade Routes: Both empires will reopen their mutual trade routes under military escort for a provisional period of 6 months, after which trade oversight will be handled by a Canadian trade guild.
