Basic Information
Anatomy
The Gorr look like large, humanoid geckos. Like geckos, the Gorr have hands, feet and tails that are adapted to allow them to cling effortlessly to most surfaces - even to hang upside-down on ceilings!
Biological Traits
In addition to being able to climb nearly any surface, the Gorr are also mildly venomous. Even though their teeth are not especially large, their acidic venom makes it much more painful.
Genetics and Reproduction
Similar to the whiptail lizards of our world, the Gorr is an all-female species capable of reproducing asexually when conditions are right. Any single Gorr will typically lay 1-4 fertile eggs during their lifetime, though depending on what population pressures a society is facing that number may increase or decrease appropriately in response. When laying eggs, only a single fertile egg is produced at a time and is laid alongside 2-5 infertile 'decoy' eggs.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Like most races adapted to living in the tunnels and caverns of the underground, Gorr have darkvision to help them see even in complete darkness. The Gorr are also able to see farther into the UV end of the spectrum than most humanoids.
Civilization and Culture
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
Before a Gorr can complete their coming-of-age trials and ceremony, they learn a ritual that allows them to use pieces of their shed skin to imbue their clothing with their gecko-pad abilities. This ritual takes about an hour to perform, and the resulting item allows the wearer to adhere to surfaces while wearing it as though they were not wearing the item at all. It is worth noting that this ritual cannot grant non-Gorr the ability to cling to walls, as the resulting item only seems to function for the one whose skin went into the creation.
History
Several thousand years ago, during the First Great Dragon Wars, it is said that a small group of dragons worked together to steal several powerful artifacts from their elders and used them to escape to a new world. Thus did dragons, led by the black-scaled earth dragon later known as Draconis, arrive to the worlds of Dunia. The new world was already populated with intelligent creatures such as humans, dwarves and elves, and it is said that each of the Five First Dragons of Dunia used the power of the artifacts that they brought with them to each create a race of creatures who could serve them and interact with these other creatures on their behalf. It is unknown whether the five races, collectively known as the "Dragonkin ," really were created or if they somehow traveled or were summoned from another world or plane of existence, but historians agree that there are no traces of the Dragonkin races in any form that predate the arrival of the dragons to this world.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
As the Gorr are the only Dragonkin species who has not won independence from their draconic creators - largely due to Draconis's direct influence - most Gorr have very limited contact with outsiders. Most Gorr will know at least a few elves of House Draconis, but beyond that typically will not encounter other races except as part of some sort of raid - either by raiding others or repelling invaders to their underground homes.
Some Gorr do escape from living under the direct watch of the Earth Dragons, though, and when they travel are usually met with suspicion at best and outright hostility at worst. Their strong association with the Earth Dragons in general and Draconis specifically means that other races will usually regard a lone Gorr as a probable spy or thief who should not be trusted. Those who do rebel against the Earth Dragons face an uphill battle on all sides and rarely find true acceptance anywhere, especially as the Earth Dragons do send out spies and thieves from time to time.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
The Gorr typically have black skin with pebbly scales, and to most observers match their colour moniker of "Black Dragonkin" more than any of the other dragonkin species. However, each has a unique skin pattern that is fairly bright but only reflects light in the UV part of the spectrum, making it difficult for outsiders to be able to tell individual Gorr apart.
