The party receives a letter addressed to Kathrine Seaglade (Kit), inviting her to attend the Symposium Arcanum, and mentioning a previously unknown sister. The party buys formal clothing and arranges transportation through the Naisorins to make it to Solimé. They do a bit of shopping for magic items, obtaining a +1 wand of the war mage for Mel, who now owes Shaco, and a cloak of many fashions for Shaco. The party made their way into the University of Solimé, where Kit inquired into where to find another Seaglade and was pointed to a room in the faculty's housing area. Kit knocked on the door and met Dorothea Seaglade, a professor at the university whose specialty was runic magic, and her older sister. The two catch up, telling each other the information that they each have to piece together bits of the circumstances surrounding Kit's death. Shaco has a bad feeling about the symposium, feeling as though someone might get attacked, and Dot agrees to pull some strings to have the party seated near the front, though she doubts there will be an attack and asks the party not cause a disturbance.
