    The Creation of Dremlia

    While the exact method and and powers behind the creation of Dremlia differs from culture to culture, due to scholarly research it is widely accepted that the world came into being around 100,000 years before the current age. This number is merely an estimation as no field of study, magical or mundane, possesses the ability to accurately divine such distant history.

    The First Dragons

    No one is quite sure where the first Dragons came from, though due to magical and mundane study of Dragon bones, it has been concluded that the first Dragons were present in Dremlia around 50,000 years before the current age. Nothing is known of Dragon history before the time of the first Elves.

    The First Elves
    Metaphysical / Paranormal event

    From deep within the Ivenasith forest the first Elves, known as the Ivanel, were born. Some say they stepped out from the embrace of the trees others say they emerged from the cool depths of the waters, but no one is for sure. What is known is that not long after their birth, the Ivanel were enslaved by the Dragon Lords and subject to their whims.

    The Creation of the Wood Elves

    The Dragon Lords experimented on their Elven slaves, transmuting their forms to better suit the jobs they had for them, through sorcery and science. The first creations by these means were the Wood Elves, or Sylvans. Being bred with more athletic bodies the Wood Elves were used for hunting, foraging, and farming purposes.

    The Creation of the Dwarves

    The next creation of the Dragon Lords were the Dwarves. While the Wood Elves shared many traits with their Ivanel ancestors, the Dwarves could not have been more different. Short, stout, and hardy, the Dwarves were bred for the hard work of mining, digging out the large network of underground tunnels that the Dragons used as nests.

    The First Humans

    The reason and means are unknown, but the first Humans, known as the Elder Men, arrived in Dremlia from the Genesis Islands, north of the Frostlands. The Frostlands were the only lands in Dremlia not inhabited by the Dragons, for the cold was deadly to the beasts, which allowed the Humans to remain unnoticed for a time.

    The Enslavement of the Humans

    Once the Dragon Lords took notice of the new beings that were quickly spreading in the North, they took to enslaving them, keeping the Humans as servants to care for the needs of their High Elf slaves. This is seen as the beginning of the animosity between the Humans and Elves, the High Elves in particular.

    The Discovery of Black-Steel
    Discovery, Scientific

    Deep beneath the Pox Barrens, a poisoned piece of land, a Human known as Darius the Bastard, with the help of the Dwarves, discovered an unknown dark metal, he called 'black-steel'. The metal was found to be extremely deadly to even the hardiest creatures, poisoning the blood and corrupting the flesh.

    The First Dragon Slaying

    Inspired by her half-brother, Darius the Bastard's discovery of black-steel, Morgana the Raven Queen, one of the leaders amongst the Human slaves, slays her Dragon master with a blade forged from the dark metal. This was the first ever death of a Dragon by mortal hands, and this stoked the flames of revolution amongst the Humans.

    The War of Flames
    Military: War

    The Humans, banded together with the Dwarves, were led by Morgana the Raven Queen and the Dwarf Lord; Norus Wyrmsbane into a revolt against their Dragon masters. The Dragon Lords sent the High Elves and Wood Elves to fight against armies of Man and Dwarf. The war is long and many die but eventually the Humans and Dwarves came out on top, with most of the Dragons slain or having fled.

    The Shattering
    Disaster / Destruction

    Near the end of the War of Flame, the remaining Dragon Lords grew desperate. They attempted to create the perfect warrior by mutating a handful of Dwarven soldiers they had captured. The experiment went horribly wrong, killing a large number of the remaining Dragon Lords, as well as destroying a great portion of the land, creating what is now known as the Shattered Isles as well as the deformed beings known as Goblins.

    The Last Dragon Lord

    In a one on one battle, Morgana the Raven Queen fought against the final Dragon Lord, Vin'Irath'Malorav atop the White Cliffs. In flashes of fire and steel, the battle was said to be so magnificent that no words could bring it justice. With a single black-steel arrow stuck right in the heart, the last Dragon Lord is felled, ending the War of Flame. Morgana absorbs the power of her foe, and is given the last name of 'Draekon' meaning 'dragon slayer'.

    The Discovery of Wizardry

    Through the use of talismans made from Dragon bone, it is found that the non-magical races are able to manipulate the mystical forces. The study of wizardry soon begins to grow amongst Humans, revolutionizing their way of life.

    The First Orcs
    Metaphysical / Paranormal event

    After the War of Flames, the Wood Elves were persecuted by the Human victors. A majority of the Sylvans fled to the Canthis Forest, but a handful made the Pox Barrens their home. According to Orcish lore, those Wood Elves were chosen by Urku, the god of blood, and through a pact they were transformed into the Orcs we know today.

    The Broken Wars

    Many years after the end of the War of Flames the growing disputes over land between the Humans came to a head, turning into full blown war. After nearly fifty years of blood-shed, twenty-three Human rulers emerged victorious, drawing tentative boarders, creating what is now known as the Twenty-Three Broken Kingdoms.

    The Crimson War

    After constant boarder disputes between the rulers of the Twenty-Three Broken Kingdoms, the battling turned into war when Princess Lysandra Beartooth was assassinated in her home. This is considered the bloodiest war in all of Human history, lasting half as long as the Broken Wars but resulting in twice as many Human deaths.

    The Crimson Compact

    During the Crimson War, many of the rulers of the Twenty-Three Broken Kingdoms had died, and even still others made peace with one-another merging their lands. This resulted in six remaining realms by the end of the war; the Kingdom of Pheocia, the Territory of the Edge, the Kingdom of West Auris, the East Auris Triumvirate, the Principality of Mortem, and the Kingdom of Ivena. The rulers of these six realms signed the Crimson Compact, ending the war and officially establishing the boarders of their lands.

    The War Of The Grasslands

    Magistra Lorenis Obraun led the Triumvirate of East Auris in a conquest against first the Territory of the Edge, taking control of the realm, and next attacking the Kingdom of West Auris. This war was a bid for the Triumvirate to cement themselves as the most powerful of all the realms.

    The Aurian Treaty

    Orphaned from the Wars of the Grasslands, Jakkor Draekon received the crown of West Auris at the age of ten, amidst the throws of chaos and war. At the age of fifteen King Jakkor led his armies against those of the Triumvirate whom had slaughtered many of his people, and he ended the War of the Grasslands. King Jakkor demanded that the Triumvirate submit to his rule, uniting West and East Auris into one Kingdom of Auris beneath the Aurian Compact.

    The First Ivenan Civil War

    During the War of the Grasslands, many of the people from the Territory of the Edge were forced to flee into the northern regions of the Kingdom of Ivena. The displaced Edgefolk refugees, who had eventually found jobs and families in their new home, were persecuted by the ruling class, leading to a divide between those who supported them and those who wished them gone.

    The Treaty of Rivers

    The Ivenan Civil War ended with the Treaty of Rivers, which marked the separation of the North Ivena from South Ivena. The North Ivenan Republic was founded, upon the principle of individual representation for the people.

    The Golden War
    Military: War

    Six years after successfully uniting the realms of West and East Auris, King Jakkor declared himself the rightful ruler of all the realms of man. He sent word to the rulers of the then four other realms, demanding they either submit to his rule or face him on the battle field. The three Princes of Mortem pledged their loyalty to King Jakkor but the other rulers would not submit, beginning the Golden War as well as marking the start of the current age.

    The Golden Accord

    After the deaths or submission of all the rulers of Dremlia, King Jakkor Draekon shed his kingly crown and instead dawned the crown of an emperor. Emperor Jakkor allowed the now ex-rulers of the realms to retain their titles and land, as long as they swore their fealty to the Empire. Thus the Golden Accord was signed, brining all the realms under the rule of the Aurian Empire.

    The First Keeper

    Emperor Jakkor, inspired by the great deeds of his life, believed that no one should forget men like him. He appointed his brother-by-law, the mage Knerius True, as the first Keeper of the Histories, to record all the most important events, a position that still exists to this day. Before this, history was told only through story and myth so the exact dates of events are educated guesses at best.

    The Emperor Roads

    Emperor Marris I Draekon, the successor to Emperor Jakkor Draekon, was known as Marris the Traveler. After having desired to see every corner of the realms that his father fought to bring order to, he built upon his father's efforts to connect the lands. With the aid of the best stone masons as well as skilled mages, the Emperor Roads were built to make travel across the realms infinitely easier.

    The Discovery of Red-Gold

    A poor farmer discovered an excess of a strange scarlet tinted gold beneath the shores of the Vita-Morte River. As soon as Princess Kyriis LeVane was informed of this discovery she invested lots of time and resources into excavating and researching the metal. Princess Kyriis named the new metal red-gold, and it was found to be an excellent conductor of magical energy, making it extremally valuable.

    The Second Ivenan Civil War

    The cities of the Shattered Isles, while technically under the claim of the Kingdom of South Ivena, was never truly ruled by the South Ivenan rulers. The cities of the Shattered Isles operated under their own laws and payed no monetary tribute to South Ivena, but they were still considered only a colony. When King Novver I Montle attempted to place heavy trade taxes upon the cities of the Shattered Isles, the Shatterlings revolted against the South Ivenan crown.

    The Pact of the Isles

    After only two years of fighting, King Novver I Montle seceded from the Shattered Isles, claiming that the Shattered Isles weren't worth the fight. A treaty was drawn up between the Kingdom of South Ivena and the Shattered Isles, the Pact of the Isles, giving the cities of the Shatter Isles their freedom while keeping the trade routes between the two realms intact.

    The Aurian Credit

    Under the advice of her closest advisor, Lady Vessa Bludd, Empress Alimae Draekon established the use of a universal currency, to better facilitate trade across the realms. The currency was called the Aurian Credit, or simply 'credit', and it came in five varieties: iron credit, copper credit, silver credit, gold credit, and red credit.

    The Founding of the Bank of Bludd

    In the wake of the creation of the Aurian Credit, Prince Vaerid Bludd founded the Bank of Bludd, the largest central collection of currency in all the realms, even to this day. The Bank of Bludd has been known for it's extreme measures towards reclaiming outstanding debts.

    The Discovery of the Dregvast Jungle
    Discovery, Exploration

    The merchant knight, Sir Olemann Dregvast, discovered a massive jungled land by accident when his ship was ran ashore after a terrible storm. Most of his crew died in the storm and even those that survived were killed when they explored the jungles. Sir Olemann was the only survivor, returning with all kinds of new discoveries from spices to jewels. The jungle was named after the explorer that discovered it.
