Rock Gnomes

Rock Gnomes   Two rock gnome families were recruited by Count Strahd von Zarovich when he begun gathering craftsmen for building his castle. The Count recruited the gnomes because of their particular experience in mountainous regions.   One of the families was the McAlpine family who originated from a mountainous region near the original location of Barovia. This particular family had learned to craft and use a strange explosive powder known as black powder.   The second family, McMergas, was from a separate mountain region to the north of Barovia's original location and this particular family were experts at prospecting for valuable gems and other minerals.
