Grand Church of the Truth
While many religions exist within the massive country of Celerus, one stands out amongst the others for its rapid rise in popularity, and for their singular deity. The religions centered on Truli are unique for following a deity whose existence isn't dated back to antiquity. While most religions follow one or more gods who once wandered the planet with them, and (in some way) date back to those days, Truli not among those. They are a much more recent figure, with a muddled point of origin, which makes it difficult to understand why they became such a major religious figure, never mind their explosive popularity.
Under construction in Celerus' capital is the great focal point of Truli's sudden religious power. Labeled as the Grand Church of the Truth, it is intended to one day serve as a religious centerpoint for any religious followers of Truli, regardless of their exact religion. As long as they all believe in the same deity, they can find a place here.
The Grand Church is grand in both size and beauty, explaining the time its construction is taking. Although many work tirelessly on the project, for many a form of religious work in Truli's name, they also believe it must meet a certain point of grandiosity to meet Truli's own greatness. If the building doesn't properly convey the power of the Ascended God, how can they channel them, extend their reach, grow their numbers?
Purpose / Function
Once finished, the Grand Church is tended as a religious focalpoint for any religious followers of Truli, the Ascended God. Specifics haven't exactly been planned yet, in part because there isn't a single unified religion in Truli's name. As they build the church, Truli's followers find similarities among each other, and maybe by the time the work is done, they'll have formed a shared core, with rituals to follow in the church. Or maybe the work will never be finished, and the only purpose of the church is simply to be built, forever.
Architecture
Built primarily by religious followers of Truli, with conflicting tastes and limited knowledge of architecture, the Grand Church isn't exactly built in a single style. While proper workers are employed to ensure a stable, safe building, many more religious fanatics work tirelessly to decorate the church to ensure it properly conveys the greatness of their deity. Its stone walls are plentifully decorated with gild and carved stone detailling, with elaborate statues and both gargoyles and grotesques incorporated into corners and edges. If it is ever finished, it might be the most beautiful building in all of Telesinium... or an unappealing blend of many conflicting styles.
