The nowhere king
"This delightful ditty is a lullaby for small children! Can you belive it? Older than our arrival as well!" - Sousaphon the loquacious
A myth older than the dragons
In the bleak and desolate landscape of the isles there exists a figure shrouded in mystery and dread—a being known only as the Nowhere King. Born from the shadows and bound to the darkness that permeates the land, the Nowhere King is both a herald and a harbinger of The Black Myst, wielding its power with terrifying authority.
Origins:
The origins of the Nowhere King are as obscure as the depths of the abyss from whence he emerged. Some whisper that he was once a mortal ruler who sought to harness the power of the Black Myst for his own twisted ambitions, only to be consumed by its darkness and transformed into a spectral wraith. Others claim that he is an ancient spirit, bound to the mortal realm by ancient curses and forgotten rituals.
Appearance:
The Nowhere King appears as a spectral figure draped in tattered robes of midnight black, his chest exposed for all to see the hole where his heart was, vaporous black myst wisps emerging from within. His eyes burn with an otherworldly light, casting an eerie glow upon his gaunt visage. He carries with him an aura of palpable dread, his very presence suffusing the air with an oppressive sense of foreboding.
Realm:
The Nowhere King is said to dwell within a realm of perpetual darkness, a shifting labyrinth of twisted corridors and shadowy chambers known as the Abyssal Citadel. Located at the heart of the Black Myst's domain, the citadel serves as the Nowhere King's seat of power, from which he commands his legions of shadowspawn and spreads his malevolent influence across the land.
Influence:
The Nowhere King's influence extends far beyond the confines of his dark domain, reaching into the hearts and minds of mortals with whispered promises of power and dominion. Those who succumb to his temptations are drawn into his thrall, their souls bound to his will for all eternity. Some willingly serve him as acolytes and agents of his dark designs, while others are enslaved to his bidding through the force of his dark magic.
Purpose:
The Nowhere King serves as the chief lieutenant of the Black Myst, carrying out its will and furthering its agenda with ruthless efficiency. He seeks to spread chaos and despair throughout the world, plunging it into darkness and oblivion so that the Black Myst may reign supreme. To this end, he marshals his forces and orchestrates acts of terror and destruction, leaving a trail of devastation in his wake.
Of course this is all just a story that the adults of the land tell their naughty children often followed by "If you don't behave, the nowhere king will take you away!"
