Mark Wells

Mark Wells is the main character of the story.   He is a 23 year old man working for Zenido Studios as a game tester. Mark lives in Des Moines, Iowa and works for the company remotely. He has tested several games for the studio prior to Dragons of the Revolution. He began working with Zenido Studios through a college internship while in school for software engineering at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.    Mark Wells was born on March 19, 2019 to Aaron and Jessica Wells, in Omaha, Nebraska. As the first child of his parents, his first two years were fairly solitary due to the effects of the COVID-19 Global Pandemic setting in the week he was born. While he did fairly well socializing, he found himself drawn to socializing through gaming from a young age. He excelled in school, earning honors and an International Baccalaureate diploma.    At Iowa State University, he dove into his major taking a full load of classes his first two semesters. Over the summer after his first year in Ames, he found a job with a small software design company where he was able to put his coursework into practice. When he came back for his second year, he was enticed by his roommate to join the E-Sports Club at ISU. Through the E-Sports Club, he found an internship with the startup company Zenido Studios which had been founded by two friends who had met at ISU.   When he graduated, the team at Zenido offered Mark a full-time position splitting his time between development work and internal game testing. As such, Mark was one of the earliest players of "Project Flight Sim," as Zenido had codenamed the game. It utilized enhanced nanite technology developed with researchers in ISU's Department of Materials Science Engineering and their Biomedical Sciences program.
