December of 1787 saw the opening of Dracoshire Academy to students for the first time.
Beginning shortly after the end of the Revolution, Adam Greene and his wife, Harmony, began discussions of the creation of a school for the children of Greensborough. After years of planning, funds allocation, and construction, the school opened its doors to for students in the winter of 1787. Taking inspiration from the newly coined Order of Dragons, responsible for the care and keeping of Greensborough, Adam christened the School Dracoshire Academy at its grand opening and dedication ceremony. The school was dedicated to Adam's grandmother, Sabrina. Over time, the school quickly gained notoriety, as children with abilities ran away from home to attend the academy, and young families with abilities relocated to be nearer to such an important establishment for their children.
