Simeon Tinderhoof (Sim-e-in Tin-der-hoof)

Biography

Simeon Tinderhoof was born to a farming family that was beginning to dwindle and lose its place in Ruxan . In order to continue the family tradition, his mother was forced into marrying and carrying the child of a wealthier family. Relations between the two families strained, but Simeon's mother was able to convince a court of dragonborn that due to the circumstances of the marriage deteriorating, she deserved a brunt of the wealthier family's fortune. Her victory netted the Tinderhoof family more than enough wealth to continue thriving for the next few generations.

However, the family that had lost the case had other visions for the Tinderhoof family. They struck without warning, accompanied by mercenaries and prisoners. The farm was scorched to the ground, crop fields were burnt, and livestock was slaughtered. To top it all off, in an outstanding sense of cruelty, the mercenaries wrangled up the adult Tinderhoof's and killed them with the livestock as well. But their cruelty did not stop there; they shipped the livestock off to be sold as meat, but the Tinderhoof's only ended up in those mercenaries' stomachs, with Simeon's mother ending up in her ex-husband's. Simeon was being babysat by a dragon family that had grown close to the Tinderhoof's due to a mutual understanding and respect for agriculture, an act that led to his sparing.   Simeon was then raised with this family for his childhood. He retained the wealth that his mother had obtained, with the help of the dragon family as well. As he began to come of age, Simeon was overcome with a desire to know the circumstances of his parent's death, as he was never told the truth. He knew they were farmers, but never knew what happened to the once prestigious Tinderhoof name. When he finally dug up the truth, he was shocked at the barbaric style of the slaughter, but also the reasoning behind it: Pure, unadulterated strife. Further digging led him to another revelation; that the slaughter was actually ordered by a prominent dragon family seeking to gain political favor. While he had already grown to hate the state of affairs in Draconia, this only furthered his outlook on the issues.    He took it upon himself to fix things. He enrolled in a school that could teach him the basics of politics, at least in Ruxan. He began investing in farming equipment to rebuild his family's farm. He surrounded himself with peers that respected him and his vision. Once he graduated, his headstrong rush into politics was not far behind. He immediately began rallying people behind his cause, spurred by his charismatic way of speaking, his brunt nature in regard to the relationships between lesser and higher races. All the while this was occurring, behind the scenes, Simeon was also plotting his revenge. As his supporters toppled the political scene in a revolution that completely changed Ruxan as a whole, his plot to get back at the family from years prior came to fruition.   With the help of his new political power, Simeon built a case against his father. Using evidence and testimony from decades prior, records and transaction receipts of the mercenary band and even first-hand witnesses in some of the mercenaries, Simeon was able to have his father jailed and executed, while the rest of his family was incarcerated. The mercenaries that testified were released, while the ones they could catch were also executed due to their first-hand involvement. With the one loose end that he had resolved, all he could do was move forward. In politics, life and romance.    Simeon fathered a son named Maru in 3017 EoD. By then Simeon had rebuilt the Tinderhoof farm in even greater capacity than it was previously. And within the first few years, Maru was learning how to man the farm. But this was all cut short, as was a prominent political career that looked like it would drastically continue changing Draconia for the better. Simeon was killed in an accident on his way to Virdio for a political meeting. His body was cremated due to lack of burial instructions and his son was raised by the same dragon family that had raised Simeon, eventually coming into possession of the farm until he was drafted into Draconia Defense Force 12.
