The Cursed Temple of the Wretched Apothis
This building was used by the followers of Apothis who used it as their main space of worship. Even before the worship of Apothis was banned, the followers of Apothis were hated by all who worshipped the Pharaonic Deities, even by the followers of Set. When Ra was on the throne, Apothis was the main enemy of the Pantheon; Set would obey Ra. After Ra's ascension, two things happened to drive the Apothian Cult underground. The first is obvious; it was the decree from the Draconic Confederacy banning the worship of Apothis and Set. This caused the Cult to become less publically active. The second reason for the move underground was the imprisonment of Apothis by Khepri. Khepri bound Apothis in a prison in the The Twelve Hours of Night where the serpent is chained with magical chains. This process took Khepri two years to complete, during which time, Bast was engaged in an almost continuous battle with Apothis.
Tourism
People don't often visit the ruins. They fear the Temple and all that it stands for. So great is their fear that they can't even bring themselves to go near it for the purpose of tearing it down.
