Virimqu (ver-RIM-kwo)
Virimqu is a giant species of clam that lives in the seas and ocean of Dracia.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The virimqu is a close relative to the extinct Tridacna gigantea, a prehistoric giant clam. It looks much like an average clam save for its size.
Growth Rate & Stages
These clams take over a decade to mature and continue to grow throughout their lives. The oldest have been recorded at about 1000 years.
Ecology and Habitats
The virimqu live in colder waters. Curiously they are able to thrive in both freshwater and salt water.

Uses, Products & Exploitation
The virimqu are highly prized for both the western and eastern dragon. Like most mollusks they can make pearls so the two dragons often farm these creatures for their precious treasure.
The virimqu's meat is also well liked by both dragons.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
