Darkwood (TEEB-es-jin)
The Darkwood is a thick forest in Dracia. In Draon it's called Tibessjin(TEEB-es-jin).
Geography
The Darkwood is a large forest filled with tall and old trees with dark-colored bark. The thick foliage above blocks most light, causing the forest floor to be stuck in a perpetual twilight. One large lake, simply called Darkwood Lake (Tibessjin'lagh), and its tributary the Darkwood River (Tibessjin'nir) provide fresh water to the forest and its inhabitants.
Ecosystem
The Darkwood is a temperate forest consisting of evergreens with dark brown wood, hence its name. The soil is acidic and nutrient-poor. Its similar to the taiga forests found in the human world.
Climate
The winters in the Darkwood are long and cold, with short, cool summers.
