Birth of Skolgar

The story goes that Skolgar emerged from the darkness itself, a being of pure darkness and silence. For eons he drifted through the emptiness, searching for purpose and meaning. It was not until he stumbled upon the first living beings that Skolgar discovered his true calling. The creatures were small and frail, their lives fleeting and fragile. Skolgar watched in fascination as they were born, grew old, and died, their souls departing for the spirit world. As he watched, Skolgar realized that he had been given a gift. He alone had been given the power to guide the souls of the dead, to usher them to their final resting place - the underworld. And so Skolgar set to work, carving out the realm of the dead from the darkness itself. He built a grand palace of shadow and mist – Hall of Shadows, and established himself as its eternal ruler, he planned to acquire the most caring and loving spirits as the guardians of the hall, which would then in turn take care of the guided spirits. From that day forward, Skolgar became the shepherd of the dead. He was a solemn and serious deity, revered by all for his wisdom and his understanding of the mysteries of life and death. Skolgar remains a powerful figure in the Zelmor pantheon, a symbol of the eternal cycle of life, death, and rebirth. And though he is feared by some, he is respected and honored by all for his role in ensuring that the dead find their way.
