Innen Weapons

Overview

  When they pass the exam and become full Innen, a partnership is presented with several gifts, including a weapon of the human's choice so that they can defend themselves and their partner.  

Characteristics

  Innen weapons are as varied as the human wielders desire, but all have one particular advantage: they can be made compact through the use of a secret spell. All Innen weapons have a button or other trigger that allows the weapon to expand or contract, even if the user is not a conjurer.   Most commonly chosen weapons are spears, swords, long knives, and bows. Many Innena choose their weapon for utilitarian purposes, such as hunting, while others choose what weapon they think might be most helpful for defending themselves. Rarely are these weapons, especially swords, well balanced for the user, though the durability generally exceeds that from average blacksmiths. These weapons are not ever lasting and still require regular sharpening, when applicable.  

Secrecy

  The Order of Innena seeks out conjurers specialized in material spells, and teaches them the secret of these weapons as well as the necessary blacksmithing techniques. None are allowed to share this secret, as if it ended up being discovered by the military, the balance of power in Dosjorya might shift fully to the military. The Order's top officials believe that having soldiers carrying hidden weapons could lead to a coup before the Innena could muster themselves and fight back. Much of this is not known to the average Innen, soldier, or even lower official in either organization, and many of those who do know this theory dispute its credibility.
