Character Inspiration Points and Character Building

As the DM my favorite thing is seeing the interaction between characters and how you deal or handle situations. My favorite part is watching your characters come to life. To help encourage that and build the world up in which we play, I'm going to try something that I haven't in several years.

I'm calling it Character Inspiration Points. Essentially these points will allow you push the game more in your favor during our roleplay sessions.

Getting Points

Character Inspiration Points will be earned weekly by completing the character building task in World Anvil within an expected time frame. Tasks will be simple things like write 250-500 words on the various aspects of your character for example, describe how your character grew up, what motivates your character, what is your character's fashion sense, What is a typical non-adventuring day look like, etc. I'll tell you where to enter it in the character profile of your character sheet, you can decide what is private and group knowledge (I'll help you with the aspects that show it to others in the software.)

Using Inspiration Points

During each game you will be allowed up to two rerolls (depending on how many character inspiration points you have). A re-roll will cost you one point, and can be used for anything that is a dice roll. Additionally, I'll be setting up a shop of other ways you can spend your points, to direct the course of the game. You could say its my way of getting you to invest in your character, and thus help steer the content of the game.
