Summer Camp Homework 2025

Week #1

Assignment 1: Nourishment   At first all I could think of was food, but then I expanded that to energy for the body, and then knowledge for the mind, and then blood for some of the more nefarious characters, then sources of magic and divine inspiration. Generally the people of my world don't have as much as they need and this can lead to many problems. I wonder how these instances will affect my world. Also the dynamic between the haves and the have nots and their access to the nourishment that they want/need.     Assignment 2: Goals   July will be busy again this year, so I'm not sure how much time I'll be able spend in my world. Last year was more busy but I was able to get copper. This year I'll go for Silver, depending on how the prompts fit within my world, but maybe gold or diamond too. Who knows. I'm in the process of completely overhauling my entire planet's geography and continent locations, so I'm not certain that I can pinpoint one exact location to focus on. I'm thinking either polar regions, deserts, or maybe subterranian areas.     Assignment 3: Revisting My World   I've actually been redoing and fixing up many older articles this year. There are still very, very many to go. I'm hoping to get 1 or 2 more done this month and each month this summer.

Week #2

Assignment 1: Roots   I've been constantly thinking about the origins of my races in my world and have many ideas, I'm just not quite sure how to best get them out. I am in the process of overhauling my world geography and that should definitely play a role in their origins and interactions as they strive to survive and prosper. For summercamp I may focus on the Canins, my "dog people", as I have just recently updated their creator god. I also like working on my Lacertians, "lizardfolk" as well. My elves and dwarves have very many notes and ideas, but doing them would probably require a month just on their own and might be better left for worldember. We will have to see what the prompts offer.     Assignment 2: Homepage Adjustments   Adjusments are adjusted and ready. At least until the next adjustment period.     Assignment 3: Early Projects   One of my original reasons for joining worldanvil was to try and get my early world building ideas off of paper and onto something more permanent like worldanvil. I am always going back to those early notes and creating articles from them. My early articles were often incomplete and seemed to be missing pieces. Over the years here I have been slowly updating and fixing them up. One very important thing that I've come to realize, at least for my self, is that I need to finish articles before movng on. This makes me feel like I've done the article justice and accomplished something. It also reduces how many unfinished article that I'll have to go back to and finish later on. So no unfinished articles for summer camp or worldember. This will reduce how many that I can get done, but I'm ok with that.

Week #3

Assignment 1: Transformations & Adaptations   My world has gone through several transformations and adaptations ranging from at least 2 major geological changes, where entire continents have been altered or moved. The discovery of magic and its loss and rediscovery, as well as religious advancement, changes, and losses too. We will see if any conflicts arise from these changes and what the prompts can draw out.     Assignment 2: New Inspirations   I've been trying to pay more attention what othere people have been reading and listening to and trying to see how I might be able to weave some of those things and viewpoints into future articles. I like variety and don't want every civilization or organization to be the same. So we will see what we can do with the new inspirations.     Assignment 3: Community   There are so many great world builders, writers, and enthusiasts on worldanvil its hard to pick only a few. But I've been really enjoying reading and discovering so many cool worlds. To save time during the busy month, I've been focusing on worlds with unique environmental features and geography, as well as those that seem to be focused in only 1 aspect such as just vampires or just fae. They were all cool and very insightful.

Week #4

Assignment 1: The Future   The future, and to a degree the present, is not something that I have really thought about for my world. I've been overtly focused on the past and trying to set that up before even working on the present. I'm not sure how I'll write about the future for my world. I suppose through the peoples perceptions and plans and machinations that they have set up for themselves. This is definitely something that I'll have to think about in depth and revist quite often. Looming threats might be a good way to start or even social expectations and peoples plans to bring them about or change them. Rising villains and dangers await. We will have to see.     Assignment 2: Ready Everything   Ok. Work space is about as tidy as it is going to get. Writing schedule will be tough, as the nice weather demands that I do a lot of outside work. Gatorade and hydration is ready. Still need to get some chocolate snacks. Not sure what else I need to do but I’m sure that I’m forgetting something. Ready as I’m ever going to be. Can’t wait!     Assignment 3: Achieving The Goal   I am part of the discord and reddit too. I don't have any social media, so at least that won't be a distraction. I'm not really familiar with how or where to share my work. I've never really had a desire to do so before, but who knows, maybe I'll give it a try for summercamp.
