Summer Camp 2025 Reading Challenge
Article #1 The Lithara Moth-Serpent
I just had to start the Reading Challenge with a species as they are so varied and interesting. They are probably my favorites. This article about a Moth-Serpent was very cool and had many interesting ties to the community of the in-world area. It was very nicely done.
Article #2 Necrotic Depression
Conditions are another of my favorite articles to write and I found this one to be very interesting. This article deals with how necromancers kind of feel approaching death around them and how it affects them. I like that the magic use has side effects and draw backs and think that I should add some of those to my world as well.
Article #3 Moonstruck
This was a great article about a scary and horrible Lovecraftian condition of madness and violence and it definitely adds some darkness to the world. I may need to add some condition insoired by this in order to make my world a bit darker, as I tend to think that mine is too light for now.
Article #4 Leyship
This was an amazing article about how ships are being converted and used to traverse the Leylines of the world, the pros, cons, and dangers included. The article is complete and thorough and beautiful to look at, and is only enhaced by its content. I've been thinking of the leylines in my world but have not sat down to write about them yet. This might just be the inspiration to get me started. These Leyships might be too magical for my world, but are definitely fascinating.
Article #5 Icebane
This was a cool vehicle (pun intended) to read about. It turned out to be completely different than I tought that it'd be, which was very nice. I don't have a big variety of ships in my world and this article has given me lots to think about in terms of specific ships for specific purposes.
Article #6 Azul Honey
This was an interesting article about a special honey. I choose it because I had done an article about honey and bees in the past and was curious about how other people were incorporating a similar material into their worlds.
Article #7 Necromancer
This was a classic take on the controversial profession of a necromancer. I have often been hesitant to do articles about the standard races and professions, but this article has given some inspiration for the future. Maybe they aren't as overwhelming as I once thought.
Article #8 The Free City of Mageport
This article was about a very interesting and well done settlement that everyone wants to visit. I found it to be very complete, thorough, and detailed with a great history.
Article #9 The Inkwood
This was an article about a strange forest that has very unusual magics that have transformed many of its residents. It seems like it would be a challenging place to explore and a lot of fun as well.
Article #10 Bryn’Dyr
This was agreat article about a great person that changed the course of history in her world. I'm not very good at writing articles about people and found this to be very instructive and helpful for me in the future. I found it to be very well done and interesting.
Worldbuilding Goals For The Next Half Year: For the remainder of this year I think that I will once again be focusing on updating some forgotten articles from when I first started experimenting with WorldAnvil and continue to focus on some deities. I also want to add some more monsters and species into my world and expand upon some of the locations from Summer Camp.
Overall, Summer Camp was great, even though I wasn’t able to write too many articles again this year. I kind of expected that going in, but all’s well that ends well. Looking forward to September’s challenge, Spooktober, and WorldEmber.

Thanks for including Moonstruck! Good luck with your goals for the rest of the year!
