Papaver
The Papaver is a unique farming specialist with a highly sought after and viciously competitive job that focuses specifically on growing the Black Poppy for the government. They act as a field supervisor that oversees the entirety of the process. They make all decisions from organizing field workers, to soil preparation, to farm maintenance, to planting, growing, and harvesting of the plant, to the processing of the poppy and manufacture of the black opium drug called Midnight. Each Papaver is partnered to a state official who will transfer, store, distribute, and sell the product for the Kulevya Dukedom. The state uses this as a means of income and as a way of controlling the unruly masses.

Qualifications
This profession requires people to have great knowledge of agriculture and farming and a strong business sense. The ability to manage their underlings and slaves and train animals greatly enhances their crop production. Papavers must also show that they are capable of growing and producing high quality Black Poppy flowers.

Many benefits come with this profession, chief among them is a large manor house, slave quarters, several barns and out buildings, as well as access to the best quality tools. All Papavers also have access to the Duke as an advisory role in matters of agriculture and drug production.

The Papavers are responsible for producing the number one cash crop of the Kulevya Dukedom. Not only do they plant, grow, and harvest the Black Poppy plants, but are also constantly trying to improve the yield and potency of the plants. Once collected, the Papavers carefully oversee the manufacture and transportation of the Midnight opioid drug.
Social Status
Most of the local people view this profession with a combination of jealousy and disdain. They are usually envious of the wealth and power that comes with the job but are also disheartened that these people are responsible for producing and spreading the addictive drug called Midnight. Of course those who are hooked on the drug and its pleasurable affects, glorify the position and often try to gain employment within its ranks. Most from outside of the dukedom do not understand its dynamic and usually view it with contempt.
