Surnames & New Titles

The subject of surnames and their titles have changed from Humaneborn and it's earlier era. There were very plain names. Always written in Hadur, never in Elage. They were clear as to what their job was, anyone will be able to understand what it was.   From mid to later HB, and the process of naming their names changed from what was believing from a God's influence to humans needs to be different.   They no longer use Hadur and instead use Elage to name themselves. No longer shared names with others from other towns. A notable issue were many guards being names Inchmon and Moninch, both being the small class, but due to an undelivered document, changed from region to region.   Power in the idea of Linages and Legacies grew.   Generally ranging five Legacies, children could inherit the names of their parents and therefore use the power of their parents from birth. These became know as Ardusan Birthright Titles. A prefix to their surname that showed their status not only of the job but of what part of the lineage they were in.   It became clear that there was a distinction between God's surnames and Human titles. It became the way to show what tradition you were keeping, starting, or believed in. Some resisted the new idea, namely it was your financial status that let you have the new titles and rights, as it was a hefty fee to change from the old to new system, espeically on larger families, with each member being taxed, young or old.
"I'd have to save up for three years, that's what the Godsear said. Did we reallyhave to change the system? There's been some good in this new human era, but fees and taxes about names are not something I want to get behind."
