Lolussa

Under Construction

Don't mind the blatant work in progress as I rewrite and organize this article

The capital of Yinnuth, Lolussa is not only seen as a source of wondrous goods for those nations downriver of them but as a place to experience the wonders of a magic-rich area without the risks of truly entering such a place. Although magic-rich areas are magnitudes lower in risk than a fae area, they are not without their own peculiar dangers. In Lolussa, on the shore of Lake Annur, rich yet diluted streams of magic are carried in by the mountain rivers that fill the lake.   The high tower of [INSTITUTION/WHATEVER] looks out over the city and across the lake. The city is guarded by walls, at least on the lower levels by the waterfront and the rest of the city climbs the mountain slopes behind. The city contains several districts, from the dock district just inside the walls down by the waterfront to the crafter's residences on the upper slopes.   There are suprisingly modest docks with a fair number of river boats and barges, most of which will make their way to Byrfenna and back. Some few go further, into Edisul lake and beyond down the Nupoñu.   The beauty of Lake Annur (which is after all a deep and clear mountain lake in a relatively large valley), the presence of some rare species, the desire to see or obtain the magical artefacts of Lolussa's workshops at their source, and the rumours about magic infusing the city itself all combine to make it a semi-fabled city, though not many undertake the journey or are admitted beyond the docks. There is a great wall separating the docks from the city proper. Byrfenna too does its best to discourage travellers, as it wishes to protect its interest as the trading middleman.   Small aquaducts run throughout the city, providing clean water from the mountain rivers. There are also several courts with fountains. Water is plentiful but treated with reverence as it is the main source of magic coming from the magic-rich area.
