The Noontide Censer

Qettia held the censer out, letting is sway lightly in the breeze that carried it's sweet smelling incense off towards the horizon. As she did, the smoke billowed out, gaining volume that it shouldn't have.

The other goddess, blade soaked in gore, batted it away with an amused smile. Then the smoke solidified, trapping her hand. Her amusement turned rage as she tried to pull her hand from the readymade trap. More smoke began to rush in, looking to trap her other limbs, but she pulled the one from the solid smoke with a sickening crunch that scattered droplets of ichor to the ground. The goddess lept back, clearing herself from the smoke, and landed on the hill opposite.

"You think your little parlor tricks can stop me, half-rate goddess?" She raged, mangled hand at her side.

The smoke simply followed after, like some great serpent slithering towards it's next meal.

A bronze censer similar in design to the scepter often wielded by Qettia, Sister of Noontide, and enchanted to produces a thick incense smoke. When properly wielded, the smoke produced is enchanted to have a variety of effects, with the most notable be able to control and harden the smoke itself; giving the wielder the ability to form barriers, shields, block enemy movement, or even as an offensive tools in the hands of a skilled cultist or saint.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The censer burns gemstones, as opposed to actual incense, though the smoke it produces has the expected consistency when not in active use. The type of gemstone inserted can cause different effects within the smoke itself; any thing from imbuing it with a more elemental energy, to spells that can put those who breath it to sleep, or wear down their mental defenses.

Channeling faith into the Censer is what activates it and it's effects, though the nuance of this method can make the tool a bit unwieldy to the unprepared.
