Oldés, the Ivory General (Ol-dey )

-we shelled the fortress for a month, never letting up. Half our gun crews went deaf from the constant noise. A couple agents made it in amongst the fire to sabotage what remained of their food, and when those reports came back we were confident they didn't have any left when the bombardment started.

By the first week, their guns stopped returning fire. After half a month, we no longer saw anyone on the walls. No flag had been flown, so we continued. another two weeks and then some, the barraged was stopped. Our sappers just chopped the front gate down in an afternoon, and when we entered it was just corpses strewn everywhere. The men started to try and tear everything apart, trying to find any stashed food, ammunition, or valuables. My squad found a small little chapel in the back of the fortress. I pushed the door open, expecting to see an altar to the God Before but found an altar I did not recognize. At it's feat, a man so gaunt I thought him another corpse, until I heard his voice.

He was praying.

All of us seemed to realize at once, and we rushed in, leveling our muskets at him. We all froze, for we heard the same sound at once. Shouts from the men outside. Then screaming. Gunfire. Then the gaunt corpses next to us began to shutter and move.

A crafted god in service to the city-state of Slicostus on the human Throne of Canvas.

He was one of the first examples of a correctly made god from the nascent godyards, made with purpose and intent as opposed to the accidental creation of the God After . The fame of Oldés' exploits kept the Düringen, Singer & Algrave Godyards afloat for a very long time before their inevitable corporate closure and selling off. Oldés, however, remains firmly in the employ of Slicostus, as the art of making contracts for the use of a god was a newborn art when Oldés first started to receive prayer and devotion.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The art that depicts Oldés within his temples often show him as a complete skeleton, black of bone, wearing a complete dress uniform from two ages ago. The color of the uniform changes between depictions but always goes to show the contrast between the rictus grin of the dead and the vibrant colors of life.

In his hands are often clutched a weapon (usually a musket or pistol in the modern age, though more primitive forms of firearms were used closer to his initial creation) and a marshal's baton in the other.

A god of the dead, the slain, and unfinished duty, Oldés earned notoriety for the overall effectiveness of prayer directed towards him, though it's not immediately apparent. He could be called a 'cultivator' of faith, as he generally gathers a sum of devotion before putting it to use in large displays of power, calling the dead to unlife so they may continue fighting.

This behavior is aided by the fact that Oldés' is rarely called into direct action since the days immediately following the Ichormachi, so his well of power has grown quite vast with little to drain it.
