God-Whalers

Those that sail out into the Empyrean around Canvas, trolling for the developing forms of proto-gods. The early forms of the beings that will become Autochthonous Gods eventually, and slaying or capturing them.
  Crews of God-Whalers will spend their whole career on a singular ship, if they can help it, as the nurturing of a relationship between the sailor and the god of the ship they serve is incredibly important.
  After all, the Ship-gods are necessary to enter the Empyrean at all, as those gods are what give the Whalers their blessing, keeping the hulls and crew from disintegrating when they contact the fluid of the Empyrean.
