Eldweald
The Eldweald is not so much an independent nation as it is a jointly owned religious territory by both Lhynoon and Carne. The Shapeshifters of Carne hold a special type of redwood tree as sacred in their religion, and the Crenaux of Lhynoon perceive all water, but especially rivers, as sacred to their ways. The many threading rivers of Lhynoon spill forth into the forests of the Shapeshifters and water the roots of the mighty redwoods.
When this union of holy property was discovered by the two peoples, instead of warring over it, the Crenaux people suggested a feast to celebrate the world bringing together such strange, disparate peoples with little else in common. Thus was the long standing alliance between the Crenaux and the Shapeshifters born, an alliance which has held strong for centuries. While it has not always been as steadfast as it is today, the Crenaux and the Shapeshifters have never had open aggression towards one another and frequently use the Eldweald as a neutral ground to host religious festivals and discuss political issues.
