Aasimar
People of all kinds can have strange differences to them that make them outliers from the rest of their race. When it comes to the lineages and aasimar, this is very apparent.
Those who become aasimar are said to be chosen. They are hallowed people touched by holy artifacts, places, or beings. This can take hold in many different ways, granting them different beacons of divine energy.
The aasimar are varied in this way and provide variation to the races that inherit this lineage. This inheritance marks them, and grants them special abilities.
A People Sought
As such, there are different individuals who search for aasimars. Venerer angels and their followers view aasimar as chosen people meant to save and protect others or seek out evil. They find them and bring them back to be trained in methods to accomplish this task and some may even become Venerers themselves. Evil beings also sometimes search out aasimar for similar reasons. A group of ill-alligned knights may search out an aasimar to corrupt it. Another faction that sees the Venators as their enemies may find aasimar simply to keep them away from the angel's watch. Cults may find aasimar to sacrifice or revere. Hags and other malevolent spellcasters may find aasimar to utilize their body parts in foul rituals. Whatever the case, aasimar are often hunted. It is sad that these people are most similar to the gods that created most of us, and if this is true, then the fact that people still hunt them down makes sense.Origins
Aasimar develop naturally on the continent of Hrothenst and Ist'fek. Others may become an aasimar after being granted abilities by a celestial, hallowed location, divine item, or some other divine means. Some people claim that Aasimar are descended from the mixing of celestials with humanoids, but I have come across no definitive evidence that celestials and humanoids are closely related enough to produce viable offspring much less what those offspring will manifest as; it is more likely that this last origin is a misconception due to the fact that there is a higher population of celestials in most areas where Aasimar are born. In general, a naturally developing Aasimar begins showing signs of their lineage in early childhood.Civilization and Culture
