The High Council of the capitol city had summons the group for the first time to investigate the sudden loss of contact with a small town located north of their city. The Council's messenger explained that the town had been experiencing strange occurrences, and no one had heard from them in over a week. The adventurers were to travel to the town and investigate what had happened, reporting back to the Council with any findings. The messenger also warned the adventurers of rumors that the town might be cursed and cautioned them to be careful. As they set out on their journey, the adventurers couldn't help but wonder what they might discover in the town and what secrets it might hold.   The group summoned by the High Council to perform this task is: Ibahn Ovalenor, Haspien Nightshade, Aurora Brighthollow, Blueberry, and Flint.

The Beginning of the Misfits:

As the group of adventurers arrived at the small town, they found it in complete ruins. Buildings were burned to the ground, debris littered the streets, and there was no sign of any survivors. As they searched for clues, they discovered strange markings on the walls and symbols etched into the ground. They also found signs of a struggle, with weapons and bloodstains scattered throughout the town. It was clear that whatever had happened here was not natural.   Alongside the scorched materials of houses and grasses Aurora and Haspien would look to these substances as forms of unknown magic. With tensions beginning to raise about who could do such an act, Blueberry discovers a bottle, ornately decorated and labeled "Skyhold Wine" with a note on it written "To: Deo Alvani" though he did not know how this would come of use, the skeleton barbarian collected the item.   After further investigation, the group discovered that a cult known as The Depths had emerged from the surrounding woods and had laid siege to the town. The cultists seemed to target the town almost randomly. They had slaughtered the townspeople and burned their homes to the ground leaving a majority of conventional valuables behind.   The adventurers followed a trail of clues that led them to a hidden cave deep in the woods. Although the carvings and paintings in the cave were curious, they did not reveal any more information about the cult that attacked. Blueberry used their innate abilities to consume a piece of flesh from one of the deceased to relive their memories, allowing them to glean information about the cult's attire, experiences, and magic. This incident is unseen by the rest of the group. Meanwhile, Flint and Ibahn observed the investigation and examined abnormalities in Lake Greystorm, the nearby lake where the town was situated.   After approximately seven hours of searching the town, the group finally stumbled upon a lone cultist who had been observing them for much of their investigation. Engaging in battle, the group's combined efforts were enough to overpower the strange magic the cultist wielded. Although the enemy attempted to flee, they met an untimely demise as Ibahn cast a firebolt into their back. Before dying, the cultist revealed the name of their group: "The Depths".   With that concluding the majority efforts for the town the group would do a moving sweep across the area as they return to the capitol city, Kaira. Receiving a large amount of compensation for their mission, they are asked to stay in the city and to consider the idea of more permanent work under the High Council's advising. With that our group scatters with a handful ending up at the nicest tavern in the city: "Deo's Sanctum".
