Life, Identity
After some time spent exploring the various locations marked on their collection of maps and taking a break from their constant adventuring, the Heroes of Old noticed a significant structure taking shape on the outskirts of the Lynoa capital, Kaira. Just beyond the city walls lay the foreboding Tainted Woods, a region infamous for its dense monster population and treacherous terrain. Despite being shunned by the general populace, the High Council of Kaira summoned the Heroes of Old in utmost secrecy, enlisting their aid in investigating what they ominously referred to as "The Dark Tower." With their bags filled with essential items, each Hero embarked into the perilous expanse of the Tainted Woods, driven by a singular objective: to uncover the secrets behind this enigmatic Dark Tower and, if necessary, dismantle the looming threat it posed.
After a prolonged period of relentless exploration and thrilling adventures, the Heroes of Old found themselves yearning for a much-needed break. The countless challenges they had faced had taken a toll, both physically and mentally. It was during this interlude of rest and recuperation that an unexpected and unnerving sight began to unfold on the outskirts of Kaira, the bustling capital of Lynoa. Emerging like a sinister specter against the horizon, an imposing structure gradually took form, casting a palpable shadow over the landscape. This eerie development sent ripples of disquiet through the citizens hearts, for the area it loomed over was none other than the infamous Tainted Woods and city itself. The Tainted Woods had earned its sinister reputation for harboring an abundance of menacing monsters and an environment so forbidding that it had been condemned by the populace. However, despite the common disdain for the Tainted Woods, the High Council of Kaira approached the Heroes of Old with an air of utmost secrecy and urgency. They divulged their growing apprehension surrounding the enigmatic structure, ominously referred to as "The Dark Tower." The mere mention of this name was enough to unnerve the bravest of spines. The Heroes, each carefully equipping themselves with a stockpile of essential supplies, embarked on their journey into the heart of the Tainted Woods. Their shared objective was as clear as it was daunting—to unearth the mysteries concealed within the foreboding Dark Tower and, if circumstances dictated, to confront and quell the ominous threat it posed to their cherished homeland. As the group drew nearer to the ominous tower, its grotesque nature became increasingly apparent. The structure, once thought to be made of stone or some other material, was revealed to be constructed from the repulsive remains of decomposing flesh. A noxious stench hung heavily in the air, causing most of the group to recoil in disgust. The exception, however, was Er-Zul, whose stoic demeanor remained unshaken, as if he had encountered such horrors before. With a collective gulp, the group gathered their resolve and began the treacherous ascent. The tower seemed to pulse with malevolence, and as they climbed higher, the eerie sight of veins and arteries intertwining amidst the fleshy facade filled them with unease. Upon reaching the upper levels, they encountered a chamber bathed in an eerie crimson light. At its center stood a grotesque altar adorned with an empowered symbol of the Dark One. The very air seemed to vibrate with dark energy, making it clear that this was a place of immense power. Their intrusion did not go unnoticed. Emerging from the shadows, a figure clad in dark, maintained armor confronted the group. This enigmatic being introduced themselves as Eldon, a Dark Elf with an air of otherworldly arrogance. He claimed to be the brother of the Last Blood of Skyhold, the exact figure who sent the group to discover Skyhold and unearth the Dark Elf technologies for the greater republic to use. Tensions escalated quickly, and words gave way to violence. Eldon, a formidable and fanatical follower of the Dark One, unleashed dark sorceries and shadowy blades against the group. The battle was fierce and unforgiving, as Eldon's loyalty to his malevolent deity fueled his powers. However, the group's determination, combined with their tactical prowess, eventually turned the tide. Eldon found himself outmatched and outnumbered, and after a final, desperate clash of magic and steel, he fell defeated at the group's feet. With Eldon's defeat, the malevolent energies that had imbued the tower began to dissipate. The symbol of the Dark One lost its sinister glow, and the tower itself began to tremble. Fleshy walls started to crumble, and the entire grotesque structure threatened to collapse. Realizing the imminent danger, the group quickly secured their escape, racing down the tower's crumbling staircases as the decomposing flesh fell in grotesque chunks around them. As they reached safety, they looked back at the once-dreaded tower, now reduced to a nightmarish memory. Eldon's threat had been defeated, and the Dark Tower had been depowered. Yet, the eerie sensation of their encounter with the fleshy monstrosity and its dark guardian would linger, as if their quest against the forces of darkness was not yet complete..
