Henshi Asako

Henshi is a prominent member of the last remaining Leonin family within the Phoenix clan of Torishani. His birth was celebrated with great enthusiasm, and the festivities continued until he exhibited the remarkable ability of Kami Speak. However, his family grew cautious of visiting the gifted child when they witnessed his astonishing skill in convincing Kami to obey his commands. This mastery caught the attention of four senior advisors from Daidoji's Institute, who came to investigate the young prodigy. Henshi's journey into a life of academia and relentless practice began with this significant event.   Henshi's exceptional abilities with Kami provided him with a distinct advantage over his peers during his formative years. This advantage secured him funding for various theoretical research projects during his graduate studies. It was in his post-graduate years that Henshi crossed paths with Mantis, an adept student who also possessed a unique connection to the Flesh Kami, a rare and often malevolent spirit seeking to expand its influence.   Mentoring Mantis, Henshi offered guidance to help his student navigate the complexities of working with such a volatile force. He urged Mantis to follow the safer path of study, emphasizing the long-term benefits and the importance of avoiding shortcuts. However, as time passed, Henshi began to question whether his former student had truly adhered to the path of caution or had succumbed to the lure of short-term power and its consequences. The uncertainty now haunts Henshi as he reflects on the choices Mantis may have made, driving the mentor to search the world for his student in hopes he is not too late.
