Esoteric Sisters

Within the pantheon of the Sisters, a distinct presence is held by the enigmatic Esoteric Sisters. The Esoteric Sisters are as follows: Victoria, Evangeline, Tiamat, and Iquan; these sisters embody the intricate complexities and darker aspects of the world. Often depicted as judges and executioners, they embody the necessary forces that exist alongside benevolence and compassion.   The tales surrounding the Esoteric Sisters paint them as mysterious beings, shrouded in shadows and bearing the weight of somber domains. They are the embodiment of the harsh truths and inevitable challenges that life presents. While their nature may appear formidable, they serve as a reminder that existence is a delicate balance of light and darkness, and that every aspect has its purpose and place.  

Victoria, Sister of Deceit and Patience:

Victoria, known as the enigmatic figure among her sisters, holds a reputation for being the most secluded and distant in comparison to the other siblings, even surpassing the unseen Coraline. Her stories often revolve around clashes with deities, if recorded at all, although the majority emphasize her interferences in the mortal realm of Dionis or her ascendance to the esteemed position of the Shadow Sorcerer Supreme, a title she bestowed upon herself. While often described as a ravishing woman with lustrous raven hair, numerous accounts depict her possessing peculiar deformities, some extending to the extent of bestowing curses upon individuals. It is believed that Victoria played a significant role in cursing the bloodline of the Romanavs, a heroic lineage heralded for their valiant acts during the Dark Ages. Also within the Dark Ages it is said she paralleled her sister Thalia taking on an ancient three color Shadow Dragon to combat her siblings at the time.  

Evangeline, Sister of Envy and Diligence:

Evangeline, renowned for her daring expeditions through the treacherous realms of Pandemonium and the Keys, stands out for her exceptional perceptiveness, allowing her to navigate chaotic domains and intricate labyrinths with unparalleled efficiency. Her ventures at the Keys have become a source of inspiration among scoundrel pirates, with one particular tale standing out: the legendary account of her assembling a crew to plunder a vast treasure horde guarded by a fearsome Dracoleviathan, a formidable creature known for its "Might of the Old Ways." It is worth noting that her appearance is known to shift between that of a noble knight in certain lands and a tomboyish pirate persona in the vibrant confines of the Keys.  

Tiamat, Sister of Material and Force:

Tiamat, widely regarded as a prominent draconian figure, assumes a role akin to that of a revered healer rather than a progenitor. During the Progenitor Wars, a devastating plague befell all creatures bearing Dragonblood, plunging them into a dire state. Legend has it that the sky shimmered like a prismatic wall as a multiheaded, multicolored dragon descended from the ethereal realm. Tiamat, the harbinger of hope, carried with her not only a cure for the affliction but also a fervent fire that would ignite the prominence of dragons in the forthcoming Precursor Wars. The true human form of Tiamat remains elusive, yet rumors persist that Luna, another enigmatic figure, possesses knowledge of her humanoid visage, portraying Luna as a supportive presence in Tiamat's tales.  

Iquan, Caretaker of Limbo and Fate:

Iquan, revered by only a handful of followers throughout Dionis, possesses scant tales chronicling her activities across the realms. However, rumors persist that Aubadae, the God of the Sun, diligently keeps tabs on her, granting his priests fleeting glimpses of the goddess during their encounters. The image commonly associated with Iquan depicts her as a nurturing figure, often depicted caring for two creatures whose forms are known to shift, but their presence remains constant—Limbo and Fate. Iquan herself is envisioned as a gentle woman with soft, chestnut-colored hair cascading just above her shoulders. It is said that she frequently visits parents across Dionis, their identities shrouded in mystery, offering them profound wisdom to guide them on their forthcoming journeys. Her position among the Esoteric Sisters is often highly debated, but she is usually picture amongst the other three none the less.    Just as the Virtuous Sisters embody virtues such as wisdom, courage, and loyalty, the Esoteric Sisters embody the necessary components that shape the tapestry of life. They remind us that in the face of chaos and adversity, it is through the interplay of opposing forces that balance and harmony can be achieved. Their presence in the world of Dionis serves as a reminder of the intricate and multifaceted nature of existence itself.

While their legends may be less celebrated and shrouded in mystery, their origins can be traced back to the primordial forces that shaped the Precursor Wars. The Esoteric Sisters represent the counterbalance to the Virtuous Sisters, embodying the necessary aspects that make up the intricate fabric of existence. Tiamat embraced her role as the Herald of Material and Force, commanding the raw power of matter and the relentless energy of cosmic forces. Lastly, Iquan took on the mantle of Caretaker of Limbo and Fate, nurturing the ever-shifting realms of uncertainty and weaving the threads of destiny.   While the Sisters' existence was integral to the development of society, their presence was not always greeted with open arms. Sarit, Ammat, and Tiamat:

Within the treacherous waters of the Keys, three formidable figures loom, known to the locals as the "Pirates Banes." These enigmatic beings strike fear into the hearts of even the most seasoned seafarers, their presence synonymous with failed plunder, devastating losses, and the mysterious disappearance of ships. Among them, Sarit, the alternate persona of Evangeline, assumes a fearsome avatar in the form of a colossal fish adorned with striking black and white scales, its mighty back carrying the weight of crashing waves. Ammat, the alter ego of Iquan, manifests as a massive squid, accompanied by a swirling portal that leads to her ethereal realm of Limbo. Tiamat, her true form unaltered, takes on the guise of a multi-headed dragon of vibrant hues, with each head representing a different color, and it is said that the Keys harbor her vast hoard of untold treasures.  

Soshi Leng:

Soshi Leng, the alter ego of Victoria, found her place among the esteemed Scorpion clan of Torishani. Concealed behind the facade of a human avatar, she adeptly maneuvered through the intricate web of the clan's politics, faithfully fulfilling her assigned role. As time passed, Soshi's exceptional talents caught the attention of a revered wizard in the land, who took her under his wing as his apprentice. Under the tutelage of her master, Soshi delved deep into the mystical arts, honing her skills and cultivating a profound affinity for manipulating shadows. With each passing day, her control over the ebbing and flowing darkness grew, unlocking new depths of power within her. Eventually, she discovered her true alternate form - that of an Ancient Three Colored Shadowed Dragon. This momentous transformation occurred roughly 26 years prior to the imminent plans of the Dark One, a time when ominous clouds began to cast their shadows over the realm of Lynoa.   Unbeknownst to Soshi, her journey would soon intersect with the malevolent machinations of the Dark One. Destiny would propel her forward, entwining her path with her fellow sisters. Together, they would embark on a perilous quest, their united strength poised to challenge the encroaching darkness and safeguard the realms from its insidious grasp. The tale of Soshi Leng, her transformation, and her pivotal role in the unfolding events would etch an indelible mark upon the tapestry of Dionis' history.

The Esoteric Sisters would inspire a wide range of literary works in the world, ranging from epic poems to allegorical tales to modern novels. Here are some examples of how their characters might be portrayed:   Poem: "Engima de Victoria" - This poem acts as a perspective for Victoria shortly after the end of the Precursor Wars, traveling to Arnovia before the time pf Dracula, describing rare instances of its denizens acting in solidarity for their own personal liberties. The end of the poem ends with meeting "The First Dracul" and many consider it to be unfinished but with no credited author many have taken the story as a sort of anthem for the continent.   Traveling Novel: "Star Traveler's Guide to the Pirate's Banes" - Though the book is widely known to be a great source of comedy for many sailors on expedition as it creates what it considered to be the first in universe five man band who seek to hunt the Banes as seeking major rep, unfortunately for the heroes of the novel things turn out sour once the group stumbles into Tiamat's lair. Though the sisters do not play intense roles as antagonists they act as comedic punchline for the wacky group.   "Evangeline: Knight of Persistence" by Victor Stormrider - This enchanting novel follows Evangeline's work as a Knight within an ancient kingdom seeking out and destroying corruption which she eventually discovers her benevolent king is the leader of. As she navigates the complexities of her identity, she becomes embroiled in a web of political intrigue, unearthing secrets that could reshape the future of Dionis.   "Whispers of Neon: The Secrets of Iquan" by Alistair Greyson - In this captivating novel, the author weaves a tale that intertwines the continent Tetreia and the divine presence of Iquan. Through vivid storytelling, readers are transported into the lives of parents across the Neon Continent who encounter Iquan's benevolence and receive her invaluable insights, preparing them for the challenges and joys of their impending journeys.

Iquan:
