Aubadae - Heart of Light
Summary
Aubadae, the most observant among the Pantheon, emerged from the Dawn of Creation through the hands of Polus. In his early days, his light flickered and was frail, requiring the care and attention of the Titan. Polus acted as his guardian and healer, tending to Aubadae's uncertain light. It was Polus's nurturing that ignited Aubadae, infusing him with the radiant Light of Titans. This experience fostered a profound connection with death, fueling his compassion for aiding mortals and delivering reckoning and justice to those who invoke his name. Though time has passed, this close bond with mortality continues to drive his efforts in guiding and protecting the people of Dionis.
The Light is said to frequent the world and it's continents in various fashions, but with his Avatar's lasting staying effect he tends to avoid manifesting wholly at all or at minimal intervals, this limitation would lead some to believe he has little contact with his followers and people of Dionis, but fortunately for them Aubadae has found a way around this Divine Law. Somehow Aubadae can manifest only a portion of his power into an avatar, this avatar being named Deo Alvani
Despite the limitations of fully manifesting in the mortal realm, the Light of Aubadae touches the world and its continents through various means. His Avatar, Deo Alvani, serves as a lasting connection between Aubadae and his followers. Some may assume that this limited presence hinders Aubadae's interactions with the people of Dionis, but he has ingeniously found a way to work around this Divine Law. Deo Alvani embodies a portion of Aubadae's power, allowing him to communicate, guide, and provide blessings to those in need. This unique arrangement ensures that Aubadae's divine influence is felt and appreciated across the land.
In addition to his interactions with mortals, Aubadae takes time to visit his siblings, often within his own divine domain or on the continent of Dionis. During these moments, a sense of warmth and unity radiates, and it is believed that Aubadae's presence serves as a familial glue, preventing potential conflicts or tensions among the Pantheon. This unique role further highlights his observant nature, as he seeks to maintain harmony and balance among the divine beings. The shared moments with his siblings reinforce the strong bond among the Pantheon, ensuring that their combined efforts continue to shape the world in a harmonious and purposeful manner.
Historical Basis
Throughout history, Aubadae's influence on Dionis is often described as divine intervention, leaving indelible marks in the records. While his siblings can also enact similar phenomena, it is his full avatar appearances that have had the most profound impact. Countless adventurers and citizens across the continent have shared remarkable accounts of the deity descending from the skies, confronting aspects of the Dark One, aiding in crop growth, and imbuing hope and courage in those facing death. Although these accounts are numerous, they pale in comparison to the extensive records found in Arnovia and Torishani, nations that have endured severe famines and diseases in their past.
Aubadae's presence in these regions is often referred to as the "Blind Sage," a mysterious figure who journeyed through the lands, providing aid to the sick and uplifting the spirits of the downtrodden. His healing touch and benevolent interventions have become the stuff of legends, inspiring reverence and devotion among his followers. The historical context of Aubadae's divine acts showcases his role as a compassionate and merciful deity, intervening in moments of crisis and spreading hope throughout the world of Dionis.
In a recent and remarkable divine intervention, Aubadae confronted the leader of Torishani, Ladia the Ruthless, for her merciless actions. As a consequence of her ruthless crusade, Aubadae condemned Ladia and many of her followers into tieflings, the very people they sought to destroy. This act of divine justice sent shockwaves through the nation, forever changing the lives of those who participated in the heinous campaign.
The transformation into tieflings not only served as a punishment but also as a poignant reminder of the consequences of their actions. The once powerful and oppressive leader, Ladia, now faces the consequences of her cruelty firsthand, experiencing the struggles and challenges endured by those she once persecuted.
Spread
Throughout the ages, Aubadae has earned a reputation as a benevolent and compassionate figure, garnering widespread admiration and reverence. His benevolence is deeply ingrained in the hearts of many, making him a symbol of compassion and justice across Dionis. While there are few physical images associated with him, his presence is felt in the hearts and minds of countless individuals who reference him in their day-to-day lives.
Aubadae's legacy as a figure of compassion has transcended mere visual representations, as he is often described as an ethereal presence that guides and comforts those in need. Many tales and legends speak of his divine intervention in times of trouble and his nurturing support for those facing hardships. The belief in Aubadae's boundless compassion has become a central aspect of the faith of his followers, providing solace and hope during trying times.
In the modern era, the presence of Deo Alvani, the fragment avatar of Aubadae, has become a focal point for intensified worship and devotion to the deity. With the revelation of Deo's identity during the Industrial Age, a wave of fervent belief swept through the lands of Dionis. His existence as a manifestation of Aubadae's power has sparked awe and wonder among the faithful, igniting a deeper connection to the divine.
However, as news of Deo Alvani's true nature spread, the avatar chose to withdraw from the public eye, retreating back into Aubadae's whole form. Those closest to him expressed that he sought to avoid influencing others through the knowledge of his status, believing that true faith should stem from the heart and not be swayed by appearances. Despite his departure, the impact of Deo Alvani's brief presence remains profound, leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of his followers, and driving them to seek a deeper understanding of Aubadae's teachings and principles.
During the Industrial Age in Lynoa, a faction called the Light Raiders emerged, devoted to the worship of Aubadae as their deity. Equipped with a powerful artifact known as "The Speed of Light," they harnessed unnatural speed and strength, enabling them to traverse the continent swiftly. The Light Raiders embarked on a mission to seek out non-converts and enforce their version of justice, becoming self-proclaimed arbiters of divine retribution.
Operating with an unwavering conviction, the Light Raiders sought to impose their beliefs on others, adhering to an absolute notion of justice devoid of forgiveness or mercy. They considered themselves the ultimate judges, deciding the fate of those who refused to submit to their vision of divine order.
Over time, the influence of the Light Raiders gradually waned, and their presence became less pronounced. Their legacy as zealous enforcers of their beliefs and seekers of divine retribution persists, leaving an indelible mark on the history and perception of Aubadae's worshipers in Lynoa.
