Elminster Aumar
Elminster Aumar (pronounced: /ɛlˈmɪnstɛr/ el-MINN-ster), most often referred to as the "Sage of Shadowdale" or the "Old Mage", was one of the most famous and powerful wizards in all of Faerûn. He was also considered one of the Realms' most preeminent sages—whose name was known from the Sword Coast, to the far-off jungles of Chult and the eastern Realm of Thay― as well as the favored Chosen of Mystra, Goddess of Magic. Over the course of his centuries-long life Elminster had saved people of Faerûn from destruction or subjugation on numerous occasions, and earned himself legendary reputation among its people.
