Military Grade
Dauntless value function over form. Even the more fashion-minded among these enthusiasts believe in the sleek elegance of simplicity. They also tend to value actions over words. They strive for personal excellence, and you'll find many loners among the ranks of the Dauntless. As a patron, they expect dedication and decisiveness. They often scout out skillful people who fall under the radar for one reason or another. They encourage their representative Divers to eschew the more socialite and advertising side of being a Diver in favor of focusing on pure skill in combat.
Brand Deal
You may Pursue a Brand Deal with Dauntless if you have met either of the following prerequisites:
- Defeated a Diver sponsored by Dauntless in an Exhibition Match.
- Have a high enough kill count in the Dungeon.
Dauntless can be a fairly grueling brand to work for. Their recommendation comes with a lot of prestige, and the pay is very nice, but they also expect results. While under a brand deal with Dauntless, your battle records are tracked and measured meticulously against other Dauntless members. All Dauntless members must remain in the top 30% of Divers. If your win/lose Ratio since joining Dauntless falls below 70/30, you may be subject to a performance review. If you continue to fall below this threshold or cannot recover from below it, your sponsorship with Dauntless may be terminated.
Brand Move: Nut Up or Shut Up
When you step up to the plate in response to bluster or threats, describe how you show you mean business and Guts + Diligence.
On a 10+, you seize the initiative and force them to step up or back down - the GM will tell you how this plays out.
On a 7-9, choose one.
- You make them falter, but now the situation is escalating; describe how.
- Bravado won't be enough; you'll have to pass a test to get a response.
- You'll have to put something on the line to get results; describe the harm or loss you put yourself at risk to.
