Scincomorphs

"Scincomorphs, or lizardfolk, are not as vicious as the old rumors would have you believe.  During an excursion to the dark N'ozama jungle I was separated from the rest of my company.  I chanced upon a village of Scincomorphs after nightfall.  I watched them drink and dance around a bonfire.  Cautiously, I approached from the brush.  They were ready to defend themselves, but I slowly disarmed myself and offered one of my wineskins to the largest warrior.  At the time I though he may have been the chieftain of the village.  Fortunately for me he took the skin and drank.  They must have enjoyed the taste because I didn't get the wineskin back.  We spent the night in revelry, I was their guest.  Although, I will say that this should not be attempted unless your other option is death without aid."

    History

A product of the primordial essence used to create Diadamel, the ancestors of the Scincomorphs weren't far from the beings as they are today.  Over the course of thousands of years they went from crawling about on four legs to walking upright on two.  Their brains developed and allowed them to think critically and to hunt more efficiently.  Tribes would form and the art of bartering would be introduced to them.  What life was like before the sundering is hard to tell; there are no written records or any accounts of adventurers finding any Scincomorph villages.

    Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

There is often a hunter and prey aspect to their dealings with outsiders.  If you are trespassing in their lands, you are their prey.  If you a smaller than they are, you are their prey.  But that doesn't mean Scincomorphs don't see value in treating with outsiders, but they tend to be on edge when meeting with strangers.  The trust of a Scincomorph must always be won, and the moment you lose their trust you become their prey.  Scincomorphs don't often extend second chances, and never a third chance.

People these days would say they were "built Ford tough."  Scincomorphs grow to be big and tall, and not in the morbidly overweight way.  Their formative years as survivors in jungles and deserts make them strong.
