Embers 2024: Two Projects

While I put 50k in my tracker, my goal is really "as close to 50k as I can get before I leave for vacation on November 22nd". Because based on my progress I have NO doubt that with an extra week, I could more than make it, but I'm going to relax and enjoy my break from teacher-ing instead the week of Thanksgiving. If I want to write I will, otherwise, that particular story will be finished AFTER Worldember!

Week 1: Area of Focus

I'm not ready to 100% commit to an area of focus, but as of 11/2/24, my goal is to keep finishing things that have been put off. I've got lists and lists of ideas about history and magic systems and characters that are simply not there but should be, that need to be translated into words. I don't want to box myself in yet. Additionally, I may start a new world. Who knows. ;) That's what the homework month is for, right?

Week 2: Prepare Your World for New Readers

It's created. Could use a review since I made some major lore changes.

Set Up Community Tools
Uh....maybe.

CSS Wizardry I just won't adjust this unless I add or use a new feature....and then nothing will stop me from tweaking it lol.

Week 3: On the hunt for inspiration!

Read a book or watch a movie
Yes! I got to read a watch quite a few things over break. Not directly related to worldbuilding but I'm sure we'll see the inspiration here somewhere. Books included: We Contain Multitudes, Queer Ducks, and Morally Straight. Movies inclded WICKED, Little Women, Top Gun: Maverick, Ocean's 11, Frozen 2, and more.

Create or expand a writing playlist Listened to new things on my trip and added music/rearranged my playlists.

Week 4: Harness the Power of Friendship!

Find a Community
I need to get back active on the Discord to share ideas and enjoy Worldember, but sometimes I find it to be a distraction as well. My family knows I'm doing this, and my creative friends, to help ease the real-world explainations bit. Plus, they can be encouraging.

Ha. Any time I don't have other responsibilities, I will be writing!! This one is easy.

Get some fresh air! I just spent the week with great friends in California, and got outside and did all the things I don't normally get to do. We went whale watching and hiking and had Thanksgiving on the beach and walked everywhere - so for this one, I'm feeling good too. :)
